Hi,
If we haven't had the opportunity to meet yet, welcome.
My name is Nikki Csek (pronounced "Check").
I was born in Penticton and spent parts of my childhood in Alberta, Manitoba, Texas, North Dakota, and Nebraska before choosing Kelowna as home in 1998.
Over the last three decades I've had the privilege of raising our family, building businesses, serving community organizations, and working alongside thousands of people who care deeply about Kelowna.
Those experiences have shaped how I lead.
I've learned that every person has a story.
Every conversation teaches us something.
And the strongest communities are built when people feel heard.
I don't believe leadership is about being the loudest voice in the room. I believe it's about helping a community hear itself.
For years people have encouraged me to run for public office.
I always believed there would come a time when my experience, relationships, and perspective could be of greater service.
That time feels like now.
Kelowna is growing quickly.
Growth brings opportunity, but also difficult decisions.
Those decisions deserve leaders willing to ask thoughtful questions, listen carefully, and seek solutions that serve both today's residents and future generations.
I don't pretend to have every answer.
But I care deeply about asking thoughtful questions.
Because difficult questions lead to better decisions.
"Communities thrive when people feel heard."
Purpose. Values. Stewardship.
